Position Title: Associate Health Care & Administrative Law Attorney (Full-time)
Location: Augusta, Maine (Hybrid work option available)
Kozak & Gayer, P.A., a prominent health care and administrative law firm with a legislative practice based in Maine, is seeking a skilled and motivated attorney to join our dynamic team. This is a unique opportunity for a legal professional with a passion for health care law and a commitment to excellence.

We are an eight-attorney firm with a thriving multi-state practice. Our focus is on representing health care organizations in a wide range of complex legal matters, including transactional, regulatory, legislative, public policy issues, and employment matters. Our work encompasses everything from compliance and federal anti-kickback laws to Medicare, Medicaid and other government appeals. Our firm is committed to maintaining the highest standards in both our practice and the quality of life we offer our team members.
Position Overview:
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of legal experience in corporate health care law, with the ability to waive into Maine or Colorado. We also encourage attorneys with fewer experience but a strong interest in advising corporate health care clients to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
Advising health care organizations on a variety of legal matters, including contracting, regulatory compliance, and health insurance regulations.
Navigating the complexities of health care privacy and security laws, including HIPAA.
Providing legal counsel on clinical and regulatory matters, including licensure, accreditation, billing, and medical staff issues.
Staying informed on federal anti-kickback statutes, physician self-referral laws, and other relevant legal frameworks.
Engaging with legislative and public policy matters that impact the health care industry.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Ability to practice in Maine or Colorado.
At least 5 years of experience in health care law, but attorneys with less experience will be considered if they express a strong desire to focus on this area.
Exceptional research, writing, and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
